Danielle Badro is a cancer biologist with a background in embryology. She joined INSPECT-LB since its inception in 2018 and is a co-founder and acting member of its Research Ethics Committee. Danielle earned a BS in Biology from Université Saint Joseph (USJ) in Beirut, a Master’s degree in Developmental Biology/Embryology from Université de la Méditerranée (Aix-Marseille 2), and a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from Université Côte d’Azur. After completing her PhD, Danielle was appointed as a post-doc fellow at the Lebanese American University Gilbert and Marie-Rose Chagoury School of Medicine (LAU-SOM) and later as a post-doc in Molecular Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine at the American University of Beirut. From 2015 till 2022, she was the Director of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Science and Technology (AUST) in Beirut. Over the past decade, she has instructed classes to Master’s students and Medical students at USJ, Lebanese University, LAU, and AUST. She has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters in the fields of molecular genetics and public health. In 2022, she joined the American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB) as an Associate Professor of Molecular Oncology at the College of Healthcare Technology. Her ongoing research works include the investigation of the genetic causes of mental retardation, the distribution of breast cancer markers in the Lebanese population, and the epidemiology of chronic kidney disease in Lebanon.
