Aline Hajj is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Université Laval (since September 2022) and the Saint-Joseph University of Beirut (USJ), with 16 years of experience in teaching pharmacology, clinical pharmacy, and pharmacogenetics. She holds a PharmD and a University Diploma in Clinical and Hospital Pharmacy (in 2005 and 2006) from the Saint-Joseph University of Beirut (USJ, Lebanon). She earned a PhD in Pharmacology from Paris Descartes and USJ.
Laureate of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Paris Descartes (2009) and finalist of the “Franco-Lebanese Excellence Award” (2015), she was an invited professor at the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal in 2018, selected by the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility UMove project and at Universités de Paris in 2021 and 2022. She was nominated twice by the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO in collaboration with the National Observatory for Women in Research- DAWReK’n to represent Lebanese female scientists in the events “Dardacha Talks – for Science Detox” & “Unlocking Science”. She was selected as a jury member for the evaluation of research projects (CNRS, Cèdre, AUF, and the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Levant Young talents).
She is currently a researcher at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Center (Oncology axis). Her research is centered around pharmacogenomics and clinical pharmacy to improve pharmaceutical care for patients through personalized medicine. Her main area of focus is the management of pain and related symptoms such as cognitive problems, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, and fatigue, specifically in the context of cancer and palliative care.
She co-authored more than 85 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. She also presented over one hundred presentations and posters at national, regional, and international congresses and meetings.
She is a member of the Institut National de Santé Publique, d’Épidémiologie Clinique et de Toxicologie-Liban (INSPECT-LB). She recently joined the Michel-Sarrazin Research Team in Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care (ERMOS), the Quebec Research Network in Palliative and End-of-Life Care (RQSPAL), the Quebec Pain Research Network (RQRD), and the Cancer Research Center (CRC).
