Alexander Abi Saad is a medical student at the Saint George University of Beirut – Faculty of Medicine (SGUB, Class of 2026). During his pre-medical years, he earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology at the Lebanese American University (LAU). Aside from his psychology background, Alexander has a solid quantitative background, including programming, biostatistics, scripting, and data mining. He plans to become a psychiatrist/psychologist researcher and clinician. While preparing for that, he is actively engaged in academic research relevant to his passions. His interests primarily revolve around mental health, psychiatry, psychology, psychotherapy, neuroscience, genetics, pharmacology, and personalized/precision medicine. He also enjoys using advanced computational and statistical techniques in healthcare research and predictive models. Currently, he is involved in studies related to OCD on one hand and elderly mental health on the other. In leisure time, he enjoys reading, philosophy, and creative writing. He is the founder and president of the newly established Lebanese Psychiatry Interest Group (LPsIG) – a student-run society for improving psychiatry-related skills (including research) among medical trainees.
