Mariam Dabbous currently serves as the Chair of the Pharmacy Practice Department and holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor at the Lebanese International University School of Pharmacy. Commencing her career in academia at LIU in 2011, she initially worked as a part-timer before transitioning to a full-time role after two years, a position she continues to hold to date. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Pharmacy, a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), and a Master’s in Education and Education Management. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Public Health at the Lebanese University. Within the School of Pharmacy at LIU, she is responsible for providing visionary leadership for the Pharmacy Practice department, overseeing the development and implementation of the curriculum, recruiting and mentoring, and evaluating faculty members within the department. From 2013 to 2021, she served as the Experiential Coordinator, overseeing the practical aspects of the curriculum. In 2016, she assumed the role of Chair of the Extracurricular Committee, focusing on enhancing the school’s community involvement. As the editor-in-chief for the School of Pharmacy magazine, she contributes to disseminating relevant information within the academic community. She actively participates in various committees at the Lebanese International University, including the Research Committee, Accreditation Committee, and Student Grievance Committee. Her research interests encompass pharmacy education, drug utilization review, healthcare, medical epidemiology, and pharmacy education. In her dual role as both an educator and a healthcare professional, her objective is to inspire future pharmacists to assume active, effective, ethical, and professional roles in their communities. She advocates for a sense of responsibility towards patient outcomes and encourages students to become productive citizens contributing to the field of pharmacy.
