Carine Issa studied Nutrition and Dietetics at AUB, then specialized in Food Service Management and Leadership in the USA. She later obtained a Master degree in Nutrition and Food Security and a PhD in Nutrition Epidemiology from France. She has been in academia since 2002 when she started teaching Service Management related subjects and later Nutrition. She has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor back in 2014, and in 2017, she became the Chairperson of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department at the Faculty of Public Health II – Lebanese University. Her research interests include Nutritional quality of food, Mediterranean diet and health, obesity, dietary patterns, breastfeeding, complementary feeding and health in toddlers, and lately food toxicology.
