Maha Hoteit holds a PhD in nutritional sciences with 12 years of experience in teaching and research at Lebanese institutions, including the Lebanese American University and Lebanese University. She coordinates the Food Sciences Unit at the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon (CNRS-L) and has served on the Academic Committee at the Lebanese Order of Dietitians and as a scientific member of Food Safety and Nutrition Task Forces at the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
She is an associate expert in the Regional Commission of Economic and Scientific Experts (CREES) of the Francophone University Agency (AUF). Her research in public health nutrition has contributed to 90 published studies focused on improving health outcomes in Lebanon and the Eastern Mediterranean region, often collaborating with the World Health Organization and AUF. She received the Pedagogical Innovation Laureate award from AUF Canada in 2022 and the Techwomen Laureate in 2023.
