Rita Farah graduated from the Lebanese University with a PharmD and a Master in Public Health (subspecialty in Epidemiology and Biostatistics); she holds a PhD in Clinical Research from the University Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) and completed an international fellowship in Clinical Toxicology at Emory University School of Medicine. She worked as an epidemiologist at the Ministry of Public Health at the central level in Beirut from 2012 to 2020. Rita has experience in designing and implementing public health responses to contain outbreaks and is also skilled in designing, implementing, and evaluating the performance and sensitivity of surveillance systems. She has experience in COVID-19 containment with a special focus on case investigation, contact tracing, and preparing outbreak bulletins. Rita has ten years of experience teaching epidemiology, biostatistics, and research methods. She is a member of the INSPECT-LB research group. She joined the University of Virginia School of Medicine as an epidemiologist in June 2022. Rita has more than 20 international peer-reviewed publications and numerous communications in cardiovascular disease epidemiology, toxicology, and public health.
